Dr. Brian Kelleher graduated from dental school at the University of Southern California, and received his pediatric dentistry specialty certification from Rutgers University. Dr. K was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been coming to Alaska regularly for 20 years, working with various Public Health Service dental clinics. He now happily resides full-time with his family and dogs in beautiful and friendly Palmer. He likes to read non-fiction and stays Alaska active with hiking, fishing, kayaking, ATV'ing, snow-machining, shooting, eating, and seeing the sights of this great state (and taking lots of pictures). He is also an avid adventure traveler. Definitely ask him about all his amazing trips around the world!
Dr. K is a member of the Alaska Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. As a member of the Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences and the International Affiliation of Tongue-tie Professionals, he keeps up-to-date on the latest research and skills for evaluating and repairing infant frenulum tissue (tongue- or lip-tie), and really enjoys helping baby and mom bond.
Dr. K's professional care philosophy is to emphasize the importance of building fun, safe, trusting, and respectful relationships with his patients and their caregivers, while also forging teamwork decision-making to ensure the highest quality preventive and restorative dentistry. He's a huge advocate that dental care for children should be as comfortable, pleasant, and stress-free as possible, for both patient and parents. This approach can sometimes take time and patience, but just might change the way you and your child think about dentistry- for the better!
